"I can be my own missionary"

May 25, 2015
Hola!!

This week was a solid week. I love training because I can be my own
missionary and this week we have more lessons in a week than I've ever
had! We also had one of our new baptism fetchas come to church! Her
name is Amparo and she is 15 so things are looking good for her
because she has friends in the church and goes to seminary everyday!!

On Lunes we taught Alexandra and Rodrigo and finished lesson 1, the
restoration. Now they are reading and praying for an answer.

Martes was my official 6 months date!!!! It was also a tough day we didn't have one single lesson.... Haha, but we did a service for Presidente Cali because he
was super busy with work.

Miercoles, Presidente Zambrano came! We had a meeting with him and I learned so much. He emphasized contacting and finding new people. And contacting is no problem for me! Its actually fun now!  I also got to go on splits with one of the
assistants to the president Elder Villafranca! We are now super good friends. he taught me so much in that one day and that day we contacted old investigators of his because he used to work in my area until the giant flood last year and now we have five new investigators! So now we are super busy!

Jueves, we had personal meetings with presidente. I love these meetings because he helps me out so much. He told me he saw my cow pictures with me pulling it by the rope on facebook and I was thinking, “oh crap”…. Haha! But he said he thought it was hilarious. He is a super cool chill guy!

Viernes we got stuck talking to a drunk guy which I love when this happens because you never know where the conversation is going to go. He started getting mad for no reason and we tried to get a way but he wouldn't let us. My comp is literally hiding
behind me and I'm just having a good time. The guy ended up getting frustrated and
left, haha!

Sabado we had a lesson with a very old investigator of mine and he is very interesting haha! I don’t know if we will keep teaching him.

Domingo, dad, you'll be happy to hear I had chuño!! Haha! It was so nasty. It was
the black potatoes you’ve been telling me about. I felt like throwing up all day! Haha! I can tell you this… I will never eat those again!!!

"I scored 3 goals in futbol!"

May 18, 2015
Hola!

This week was a good week we had a lot of lessons.

So, Monday was a good day because I scored 3 goals in futbol! Haha!

Anyway, we have new investigators who are super excited to listen and they are always waiting for us to visit them!

Tuesday we visited a menos activo who has ridiculously hard questions about the Bible that literally have no answer for but we just gave our opinions, and relied on the spirit.  We had visited familia Guasanave the night before and it was their son’s birthday and they said he didn't get any presents but he is blessed with his life. So today we went and bought him a cake and stopped by to surprise hime and it was great! The whole family was so happy and so grateful! They are one of my favorite families to visit.

Wednesday we visited the new investigators Alexandra and Rondrigo and the lesson ended up being an hour and a half because they had loads of questions and it was just  a super great lesson.

Thursday we visited a menos activo who visited a evengelico church and she said she had fun so she thought that was the spirit testifying. So we shared the fruits of the spirit and she felt so much better after talking with us because she was so confused.

Viernes we were supposed to have a big activity and they (the branch) canceled and didn't tell us so we had to run to all our investigators houses and menos activos and tell them there wasn’t going to be a activity... that was frustrating.

Sabado we visited Edwardo who has a baptism date and he knows my favorite fruit here is pacay so he went and bought me some. That was so cool! haha! He is 12 years old and is awesome!

"HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM!!!"

May 11, 2015
Hola!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MOM!! It was great to talk to everyone and see the whole family on skype!!

This week was crazy because I was in a trio waiting for my new companion Elder Melo to arrive. He is a new missionary from Chile! Now I am a trainer!

So Monday my companion Elder Gallardo finished his mission and is now back home in Argentina. After he left, I had to work in a different area with another set of elders all week which stinks because I couldn’t visit my people.

Tuesday we went contacting and found a new family to teach for the other elder’s area and they were a super happy family that was fun to talk to.

Wednesday we had a funny experience. So I've been hearing a lot about this guy who is crazy in this area and we went to a house and he was there! haha! So I just had to talk to him. We sat down and started talking and he offered us cocaine leaves to start off with and we said, “no, no we cant.” Then he starts throwing the cocaine all over us and rubbing it on us and so we were like, “oh yeah, muchas gracias!” haha! He said it was a sign of respect... the conversation was nuts and about so many random stuff!  But it was awesome, haha, entertaining.

Thursday Elder Robinson came because we have a lot of changes in our zone and he's the new elder in this area and so we spent all day showing him around.

Friday Elder Melo arrived at about 5 and we had dinner and introduced him to Presidente Cali and we had a lesson with familia Anez. haha, Elder Melo is funny, he kept asking me if there are dangerous stuff here and is super scared and had lots of questions about animals, especially alligators! Haha! He is a funny kid, I like him a lot!

Saturday we had a lot of lessons, it was awesome! We work really well together! And finally Sunday, I got to call home!! That evening we had a noche de hogar with familia Inavoldes. It was great, and they gave us dinner! It was a good day, the best! Haha!

"It was a day of no work"

May 4, 2015
Hola everyone!

So for skype mom, I'm not sure what time Sunday I’ll call but I’ll be calling you Saturday to tell you what time for sure so be ready!

So Monday was a normal day. We had our usual noche de hogar with Hermana Elsa. Tuesday we had a lesson with Fernando! He’s doing good and is excited for baptism! We just have to make sure he comes to church...

Wednesday, we had a lesson with familia Martinez and hermano said he knows the Book of Mormon is true because it talks about God. This is a problem because when people say that here, it means they don’t really pray and by not praying they can’t receive their answer and personal witness and testimony of God and the Savior. So they say this and don’t really change or grow. But, he said he will pray so we will see what happens!

Thursday, Fernando’s mom told a neighbor that told us if we baptize her son she is going to throw us a party! Haha! So when we went to teach Fernando this day his mom had food prepared for us. Haha! It is good he has his mom’s support even though she doesn't want to be baptized herself. Friday, was weird, we got a call that we couldn't leave the house unless we had firm appointments. It was a day of no work here which means no one works but it is close to elections and there is a law that you can’t have a meeting with more that three people. So we ended up having only one lesson that day with Alfonsol, the guy with cancer. Saturday was only a half day of work because elections are Sunday and so we contacted all day to get more investigators because we don’t have many right now and my companion is leaving today because he is finishing his mission. His home is Argentina. Sunday was lockdown for elections so it was a long boring day Haha!
